The PTA holds two types of meetings—Board Meetings and General Meetings—each serving a different role in supporting our students and school community.
-
These are working sessions for PTA board members and committee leads to plan events, review budgets, and coordinate programs. Board meetings often handle detailed discussion and prep work so the broader membership can vote efficiently at general meetings. While open to the community, only board members can vote on board-level decisions.
-
This is where official votes happen—such as approving the budget, electing officers, or adopting programs. All dues-paying PTA members can vote, and the meetings usually include updates on school events, finances, and major decisions.

This is a light and meaningful role! Be the main support for your child’s teacher and class by helping with organizing volunteers, planning in class events and creating a class contact list. A simple way to stay connected and make a big impact! This is assigned the beginning of each school year.

Being a part of the Board of Leadership is where the biggest impact of support feeds to Bridlemile students and families. Being a part of the Board puts you at the forefront of solution and decision making for the community.
We celebrate the diverse cultures and backgrounds that make our community strong. Our goal is to support student achievement, well‑being, and success by offering equitable, accessible, high‑impact enrichment opportunities that reflect our community’s needs. We also welcome and encourage family involvement in PTA, school, and classroom activities.
If you’re interested in supporting one or more roles, please be sure you have completed your Background Check through PPS, and contact us if you have any questions!

Join the Team
The Bridlemile PTA & Foundation are powered by dedicated parents and caregivers working in close partnership with our incredible teachers and staff to support students and strengthen our school community.
Join the PTA
The PTA is open to everyone—and we encourage all families to join. PTA members help sponsor and facilitate school events, support teachers and classrooms, coordinate volunteers, and build community at Bridlemile. Whether you have lots of time or just a little, your voice and participation make a difference.
Anyone can join the PTA, and membership is the best way to stay connected and involved in our school.
Join the Foundation
The Bridlemile Foundation is a smaller group of parent volunteers focused on the behind-the-scenes work of fundraising. Foundation members take on the heavy lifting that funds major programs, initiatives, and long-term investments that support the PTA and the broader school community.
The Foundation is always interested in new members, though participation is by selection based on interest, experience, and current needs.
Support
Together the PTA & Foundation financially support many programs and activities throughout the school year, including the Grow Garden Portland, Family Movie Nights, Freaky Friday Carnival, Winter Bazaar, Community Outreach, Classroom Supplies and much more!
We need your support to raise these funds!
